Chapter VI · Śloka 46
तपस्विभ्योऽधिको योगी ज्ञानिभ्योऽपि मतोऽधिकः ।
कर्मिभ्यश्चाधिको योगी तस्माद्योगी भवार्जुन ॥
कर्मिभ्यश्चाधिको योगी तस्माद्योगी भवार्जुन ॥
tapasvibhyo 'dhiko yogī
jñānibhyo 'pi mato 'dhikaḥ |
karmibhyaś cādhiko yogī
tasmād yogī bhavārjuna ||
jñānibhyo 'pi mato 'dhikaḥ |
karmibhyaś cādhiko yogī
tasmād yogī bhavārjuna ||
The yogi is superior to the ascetics, superior even to the men of knowledge, and superior to the men of ritual action — therefore be a yogi, O Arjuna.
Krishna places integral yoga — combining action, knowledge, and devotion in unified practice — above any single path practiced in isolation. The exhortation 'be a yogi' is the chapter's practical summary: all roads converge here.
